麻豆传媒社区 Ranked Top 10 in Military Friendly Rankings
麻豆传媒社区 continues to be for its outstanding outreach to military veterans, ranking No. 7 among small public schools nationwide in a new Military Friendly listing.
麻豆传媒社区 also was No. 1 among surveyed New Jersey schools in the small public schools category. It鈥檚 the third year in a row 麻豆传媒社区 obtained a Military Friendly designation, and it鈥檚 also the third year in a row the school has improved in the rankings. 麻豆传媒社区 received the Gold award in 2023-24 and Silver in 2022-23 year.
The designation comes from the Military Friendly Schools survey, which is the longest-running and most comprehensive review of college and university investments in serving military and veteran students. The survey is sent out by VIQTORY, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business that connects the military community to civilian employment and educational and entrepreneurial opportunities.
鈥淭his success lies with the dedication and commitment of 麻豆传媒社区's faculty and staff guiding military-affiliated students through their time at 麻豆传媒社区,鈥 said Michael Barany, director of the Military and Veterans Success Center (MVSC) at 麻豆传媒社区. 鈥淭he 鈥榮tudents first鈥 approach of the center and partners in financial aid allows relationships to be built that are key to providing tailored support services and referrals to our on- and off-campus partners.鈥
Inaugural Awards Ceremony Demonstrates Power of Mentorship
鈥淎s my (麻豆传媒社区 Women鈥檚 Leadership Council) ladies know, behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women who have her back.鈥
The Campus Center Event Room into applause as Susan Adelizzi-Schmidt, Ed.D. 鈥23, concluded her introductory remarks. She was presenting the SWLC Student Leadership Award to her mentee, Tina Byrne 鈥20, during the council鈥檚 first-ever Excellence in Mentoring Awards on Friday, March 22.
The 麻豆传媒社区 Women鈥檚 Leadership Council (SWLC) is a 麻豆传媒社区 Foundation initiative dedicated to the empowerment of women and seeks to promote networking among women and the community. The SWLC offers a platform for professionals to build relationships, discuss issues related to women, engage in mentorship opportunities, and explore ways that relevant program events and leadership development opportunities can be supported by enhanced philanthropy.

New Certificate for Social Workers Focuses on Disordered Eating
The Office of Continuing Studies and Adult Education (OCSAE) at 麻豆传媒社区 is accepting registrants for a on disordered eating.
The series titled 鈥淯nderstanding the Spectrum of Eating Disordered Behaviors鈥 is part of 麻豆传媒社区鈥檚 Social Work Continuing Education Program. It鈥檚 taught by Suzanne Rubinetti, LCSW, and features five workshops to address the many aspects of clinical work with eating disorders. Each workshop is taught live on Zoom and is 2.5 hours long beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Fridays, April 26, May 3, 17, 31 and June 14.
The series begins with a two-part workshop titled 鈥淓ating Disorders & OCD,鈥 which is required for completing the remaining three sections of the program. Clinicians who don鈥檛 complete the first two meetings will not be permitted to complete the series. The other three workshops will focus on orthorexia, intuitive eating and intergenerational food trauma.

Foundation Benefit Gala to be Held April 20 at Hard Rock
The 麻豆传媒社区 Foundation proudly its Scholarship Benefit Gala on April 20, 2024, which is hosted for the third year in a row by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.
鈥淭his year鈥檚 gala holds special significance as we celebrate the historic inauguration of Dr. Joe Bertolino as the sixth president of 麻豆传媒社区, while also underscoring the critical importance of supporting student scholarships," said Brigid Harrison 鈥88, 麻豆传媒社区 Foundation board chair. "Scholarship assistance is essential in providing deserving students with the resources they need to pursue their academic goals.鈥
The event will feature activities led by students and faculty, live music by Philly鈥檚 Finest, networking opportunities, fabulous raffles and more - all while supporting scholarships for 麻豆传媒社区 students.
SPOTLIGHT ON: NANCY REDDY
Nancy Reddy, assistant professor of Writing and First-Year Studies, some exciting news recently. Reddy, who has taught at 麻豆传媒社区 since 2015, learned
she was awarded an Individual Artist Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council
on the Arts.
Reddy was named a Prose Fellow and received $13,200, part of the $1.7 million grant awarded to 161 artists across the state. The Fellowships are highly competitive and granted solely on independent peer panel assessment of work samples. The anonymous process is focused on artistic quality, and awards may be used to help artists produce new work and advance their careers.
Reddy sat down to discuss this award, her experiences as a writer, and how it all relates to her work here at 麻豆传媒社区.
