IMPORTANT NOTICE: Information Regarding Student Health Insurance

Â鶹´«Ã½ÉçÇø does not provide or require a student health insurance plan, and students are not required to submit insurance cards. This policy has been in place since Fall 2014, after New Jersey law was modified to give students the freedom to choose their own health insurance coverage rather than being required to purchase a university-sponsored plan.

While Â鶹´«Ã½ÉçÇø does not offer a health plan, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requires individuals to have health insurance coverage or face a potential penalty. Students who need coverage can explore options and enroll through the federal Marketplace at healthcare.gov.

For students without insurance, it's important to know that Student Health Services is available to all currently enrolled students at no cost. We can treat acute illnesses or injuries, and students also have access to our registered dietitian. If further care is needed, such as an emergency room visit or referral to a specialist, students would need to use their own insurance. If they do not have coverage, AtlantiCare may be able to assist through Charity Care, which can help cover a portion of those costs based on eligibility.
